Application -
Capturing the room contour via "laser click
on the wall"
Application

The way in which the software is used is based on standard Windows applications in order to make it easier to familiarise users and also to make it easier for non-regular users to use.

Before the measurement can begin, the system must be set up with a tripod. Experienced users will need no more than one to two minutes to do this.
The points of the required room contour are captured with a ‘laser click on the wall’. The laser works like a mouse on a PC. The walls, ceiling and floor are targeted and the drawing is created in the notebook after the measurement. Openings such as windows and doors are then added in the same way.
The constant graphical control ensures that no important room contours, such as a window, are forgotten. This means that the individual dimensions are not written on paper several times, but are immediately available in CAD.
Emphasis was placed on self-explanatory labelling of the software functions.
In addition to recording the geometry, further information can also be assigned. For example, photos of certain details can also be linked to the measurement geometry:

Further processing in planning and design in other CAD systems can be realised via DXF export, IFC export or other formats.

The optional motorisation can also be used to automatically measure a contour or move to specific points in rooms, for example to set the points on the wall for the installation of bolt staircases:

Precise dimensions can also be obtained from photos using the photo function. After import, these photos are processed in TheoCAD using a lens correction and rectification calculation. The example shows a facade, but photos of templates or walls in interior rooms can also be used in this way:
